That day, the sun was beautiful, I stopped by after going to a small coffee shop next to the church, planning to buy a cappuccino and then take it to the lawn. Just opened the door, the smell of good coffee beats in the nose and the cozy space inside the shop that suddenly reminds me of the weekend mornings in Saigon. I haven’t had the habit of “Luxurious” this weekend looking for a nice restaurant to eat brunch like when I was at home, I suddenly miss that feeling so much but ordered the food and coffee sitting at the place. With such a beautiful day, there’s no need to save a few dollars. And I actually had my romantic dating moments.

Phần bánh mì ngon lành, được nướng vừa tới với lớp bánh mỏng giòn, ăn kèm ức gà, hành tím và sốt basil, rất đơn giản nhưng khiến một đứa vốn không thích bánh mì Tây như mình vừa ăn vừa thầm xuýt xoa. Ly cappucinno cũng ngon gấp mấy lần ly cappucinno thường uống ở trường. Mình ngồi nói chuyện với bản thân, nghĩ tới cơ duyên đã đưa mình tới vùng đất này, nghĩ tới mình giờ này năm ngoái, có biết bao nhiêu vướng mắc, lo lắng và những “civil war” trong lòng.
Rồi cũng đi qua những ngày tháng đó. Mình coi chuyến đi Ireland vừa là một chuyến phiêu lưu như mình hằng mong muốn, vừa là một cuộc escape ngoạn mục khỏi giai đoạn ẩm ương ấy. Để bây giờ, mình thấy mình đang ngồi giữa một thành phố không-còn-xa-lạ, những mối tơ vò đã ở lại đằng sau và mình như tìm thấy mình tự do tự tại.
Tự nhiên, trong giây phút này mình thấy mọi thứ thật giản đơn. Cứ tập trung vào mình thôi. Cứ lựa chọn điều mình mình cho là tốt nhất ở từng thời điểm, dẫu nó có dẫn tới sai lầm. Cứ nỗ lực hết mình trong từng công việc nhỏ. Học hỏi nhiều hơn. Mở rộng cuộc sống. Thử những cơ hội mới. Sử dụng năng lượng tích cực cho những gì hiện hữu.

Rồi ngày mai ngày sau sẽ lại bôn ba với đời, nhưng mình không thấy ngán ngẩm như mỗi lần đi du lịch về và nghĩ tới núi việc ở nhà, mình thấy háo hức và đầy niềm tin, tựa tựa như Alice lạc vào xứ thần tiên ^^.
Cuộc đời mình sẽ là một khu vườn mùa xuân Dublin đầy nắng nha. Khu vườn đó sẽ đầy hoa dại và một cây đào rải cánh hoa bay.

tiền và rồi bước qua bãi cỏ bên sân nhà thờ. Ở đây mình chỉ nằm để nắng sưởi ấm
toàn cơ thể, chẳng nghĩ ngợi gì, ngắm những chú bồ câu đi qua đi lại, ngắm những
đứa trẻ chạy chơi sung sướng, và ngắm hoa bay mỗi khi gió ùa về, ngắm hoài không
chán.
It was such a memorable experience being chosen as an International Student Ambassador for @Education in Ireland. I did nothing much but received a lot. Hope that I made some positive impacts and helpful sharing to those who wanna explore studying in this lovely country.
Chưa có chương trình sinh viên nào dễ thương như chương trình này. Mình chẳng phải làm gì nhiều mà được nhận đủ thứ – nào training, nào quà Christmas, quà Valentine’s, rồi được cho đi chơi liên tục. Kết thúc chương trình còn có một buổi ceremony rất formal mời hết Đại Sứ các nước có sinh viên tham gia qua dự, rồi có Bộ Trưởng Bộ Giáo Dục Ireland đến cảm ơn từng nhóm, làm mình có cảm tưởng như mình đã làm điều gì đó to tát lắm.
Đây đúng là cách quảng bá tốt nhất về đất nước của họ, từ món quà nhỏ, cách tổ chức, đến tấm giấy chứng nhận đều vô cùng chỉn chu, tử tế. Đặc biệt là ban tổ chức và các thành viên liên quan đến chương trình, ai cũng nồng ấm và nói chuyện với sinh viên đầy trân trọng. Thật đáng cho mình học hỏi!
Tôi đã có một ngày Chúa Nhật Phục Sinh thật đẹp cho tới khi đọc tin về vụ nổ bom ở Sri Lanka. Thế giới này đảo điên quá. Gần 200 con người đang đi lễ cầu hoà bình cho thế giới, cầu sức khoẻ cho những người thân thương, vô tình là nạn nhân trong một kế hoạch điên rồ, không kịp nói lời tạm biệt gia đình, tạm biệt cuộc đời họ đang sống.
Tôi chợt nghĩ… sẽ thế nào nếu mình cũng rơi vào tình cảnh đó. Sẽ thế nào khi mà mình đang nằm đây, dưới nắng ấm mùa xuân, ngắm hoa bay trong gió, và nghe từng hồi chuông nhà thờ gióng giả, một giây phút bình yên tưởng như bất tử, và rồi cái chết ập đến bất ngờ…
Người ta thường nghĩ những tai hoạ như thế này sẽ trừ mình ra? Có phải không? Hẳn là không rồi. Những người đi lễ Phục Sinh ngày hôm nay, họ đâu biết nơi họ được chúc bình an là nơi họ không thể ra về trong an bình như lời các vị linh mục thường nói khi kết lễ.
Tôi sẽ làm gì, nghĩ gì lúc ấy? Hay chẳng kịp có cả một ý nghĩ trước lúc lìa đời. Ý nghĩ đó khiến cho tôi sợ hãi. Rồi tôi nghĩ miên man đến việc làm thế nào để mình luôn trong tâm thế sẵn-sàng-để-chết nhất. Mặc dù tôi không rõ con người ta có bao giờ sẵn sàng để chết hay không. Hay như tôi luôn tự hỏi giây phút đó, Ba đã sẵn sàng ra đi chưa?
Dẫu vạn vật đều phải thuận theo tự nhiên và sinh lão bệnh tử vốn là quy luật bất biến, mình có cách nào để đón nhận cái chết một cách bình thản nhất? Có cách nào để người thân của mình có thể chấp nhận sự thật một cách dễ dàng khi lỡ may mình đột ngột rời bỏ họ mà đi?
Tôi nghĩ đến việc tạo một chiếc hộp bí mật chỉ để mở ra khi mình không còn sống trên đời, trong đó sẽ có những bức thư gửi cho gia đình và những người thân thương, đơn giản là để họ biết mình đã hạnh phúc với cuộc đời, đã không còn hối tiếc gì nữa nên người ở lại cũng xin bớt đau lòng. Tôi cũng nghĩ đến việc phải tranh thủ thời gian để yêu thương, để thể hiện tình cảm, để làm việc có ích, để thử làm những điều mình muốn mà còn ngần ngại…, làm được rồi phải chăng sẽ thấy bình an mà ra đi khi thời khắc đến? Còn điều gì có thể làm nữa?
Mùa Phục Sinh mà lại nói bao điều chết chóc, mong những linh hồn ngày hôm nay được yên nghỉ, được hoan hỉ trên nước thiên đàng. Mong gia đình, người thân của họ sớm tìm lại được bình an trong tâm hồn. Bình an, sau tất cả, có lẽ là những gì một người cần để đi qua hết những khổ đau, những thăng trầm của cuộc sống một cách nhẹ nhàng nhất.
Spring is a wonderful season when all kinds of flowers bloom. You can’t just stay home during these days. Simply go out, sit under the cherry blossom, have a cup of coffee and amaze the beauty of nature, you will make your day to the most. Life is never that beautiful <3.

On a Sunday morning, visit St. Patrick Church and sit in the yard under the cherry blossom with a cup of cappuccino, you will find yourself in heaven.
It is true that Ireland, despite the stunning landscape, culture and economic development, is still not a familiar country with Asian people. Whenever I mentioned about Ireland to my loved ones, I usually had to make it clear that I mean the Republic of Ireland, not Northern Ireland, neither Iceland nor Scotland. The interesting thing is that people, who might not feel familiar with Ireland as a country, are in fact living the Irish culture in some way or another. Here are 5 things from or related to Ireland that become well-known globally today.
1. Halloween festival

The festival on 30th October has gained massive popularity. According to Gaelic Matter, Halloween was derived from an Irish festival called Samhain. Samhain is a Gaelic Autumn festival which marks the end of harvest season and the start of winter where the livestock was slaughtered for winter (Gaelicmatter.com, 2019). 1st of November was the Celtic New Year, and the celebrations began at sunset of the day before ie its Eve. After the arrival of Christianity in Roman Europe, the festivals and traditions were incorporated into Christianity. 1st November became All Saints Day, also known as All Hallows Day and the evening before became known as Hallows’ Eve, and from there the origin of Halloween, as a word, is clear.

Drinkers around the world may know the amazing taste of Guinness, however, they may not know about its birthplace. Guinness is an Irish dry stout that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness at St. James’s Gate, Dublin. There are 10 million pints of Guinness are produced in Dublin every day. Today, it is brewed in almost 50 countries. To drink like an Irish, don’t drink Guinness at home, go to an Irish pub instead. Together with beer, Irish pubs have been exported around the world. You can likely to find an Irish pub in any city. Another interesting fact is that Ireland ranks sixth in the average consumption of beer per person.
3. St. Patrick’s Day

On 17 March every year, the whole world goes green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Ireland, the little island of Europe is where it all began. St. Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland. He is thought to have grown up in Britain but was kidnapped to Ireland as a slave. But on his escape, he returned to Ireland to spread the word of Christianity until his death on 17 March 461 in County Down (Ireland.com, 2019). The green color and shamrock are associated with St. Patrick’s Day. Hence, if you have a chance to join the festival from any country on earth, make sure you a piece of green clothing to celebrate it as an Irish.
4. Irish boybands – U2 and Westlife
Needless to say that good music
always goes beyond the boundaries of a nation. Indeed, Westlife and U2 have
been traveling far from their homeland, reaching millions of audiences
worldwide. In South East Asia countries like Vietnam, Westlife’s love songs have
been associated with sweet memories of 8x generations, of first love,
friendship and the dreams of youth. I learned by heart most of their song back
then, and I never thought that there is one day I am coming so close to them. I
might pass by them on Dublin’s streets without knowing that. There is one funny
story when my professor visited Vietnam and spoke to students at a University.
When he asked if anybody knows Ireland, just a few of the audience raised their
hands. Nevertheless, when he asked if anybody knows Westlife and U2, everyone
shouted out excitingly. That was how he introduced about Ireland.
5. St. Valentine

Valentine’s Day was not created by Irish, however on Valentine’s Day, many couples and singles travel to Dublin to see the remains of St. Valentine in Whitefriar Street Church in Dublin. People lighten the candle and pray at the Shrine of St. Valentine since “the shrine contains the sacred body of Saint Valentinus the Martyr, together with a small vessel tinged with his blood.
This is my first time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin. Hence, I went out 2 hours before the parade, having an Irish flag and clover leaf painted on my cheek, having a cup of cappuccino and enjoy the atmosphere. I was excited seeing everybody wearing fancy clothes, always have something green like a hat, scarf, a coach, tshirt and many creative things they wear, making the city so green, fun and happy.
What to do in the day?
What I did during the day was to watch the parade and then took 1 hour to find a restaurant, another hour waiting for food, one hour for enjoying food when we were starving and then one hour wandering around Temple Bar areas. People were getting drinking beer crazily, but that was super fun!

Amboise is a little lovely town in Loire Valley. You only need half of the day to visit the whole town, but for the slow traveler like me, I spent one day and one night to enjoy more. And the experience was amazing.

Here, you can visit the most well-known landmarks including Amboise castle which offers a stunning view of the city and Le Clos Lucé where Leonardo Da Vinci spent the very last years of his life.
Apart from that, what you can do is to take a leisure walk around the town, have a cup of cappuccino with a croissant, drink champagne or watch the sunset along Loire river. These are definitely more than enough for a wonderful day.
On the first day that I arrived in Dublin, the city failed to impress me much because of its modest look — there were no skyscrapers, magnificent buildings nor stunning views. However, after three months living here, I find the city much more amazing and I am truly and deeply in love with the Emerald Isle.
Here are the top things I love about the capital of Ireland:
The city is covered by trees, canals and rivers. It’s barely any effort to find a lush, natural space in the heart of the city. Aside from popular locations such as Stephen’s Green Park, the Grand Canal or Phoenix Park, you will sometimes find a “secret garden” that you would never have seen unless you were looking for it. They’re often too hidden and tranquil to be noticed from the outside.
One day, I was so excited to learn about the existence of so-called Native Trees. I then walked a tree trail around College Park to identify 15 trees that have naturally grown over many years. It was such a great experience for a nature-lover like me.
Learning while walking around the city
If you are too lazy to go to a museum, the city offers an alternative way to find out about its rich history and culture. Besides the prominent architectural buildings such as The Custom House, Trinity College, Christ Church, there is a variety of public art displayed on every corner that will trigger your curiosity. Some of the examples are the statue of James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Molly Malone, the Famine Memorial, the Spire and more.
The abundant public events, festivals and shows
Dublin is very generous and provides many public activities that people can attend for free, throughout the year. Even though I have just been here for three months, I have had great experiences in joining the parade for the Bram Stoker festival, celebrating Halloween and enjoying Christmas when the whole city sparkles with magical lights.
The capital also offers world-class shows for those who love music and theatre. I have ticked off one of the top things on my to-do-list; watching Les Miserables in Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. It was fantastic and memorable. There are a lot more shows coming next year, including Macbeth, Hugh Jackman and Westlife.
Dublin makes it possible for a last-minute person to have an unplanned yet wonderful weekend trip, as it is so close and convenient to get anywhere. It takes about one hour by bus to visit Wicklow or Howth and three hours to get to Kilkenny or Galway city. This is the benefit of living in a small country, where everywhere is accessible.
The local people are very warm and truly care for you, whenever you need help. They love to communicate and share stories with people. As a newcomer, you will feel grateful for their hospitality.
The little things that brighten up your day
There is always something in this city that will make you smile. It could be the beautiful voices you hear from the various performers on Grafton street, the colourful doors of the Georgian houses or the wonderful choral evensong from St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
Dublin may not be as glamorous as other big cities such as London, Paris or Rome but the Emerald Isle, with its charm, poetry and modernity, will capture your heart — as long as you spend a little more time exploring and enjoying the sweetness it offers.
